About Us

Bambanani Projects is a non-profit organization dedicated to bringing hope, connection, and transformation to those in need, regardless of race or background.

Founded in 2001 by Schalk Groenewald, Bambanani Projects was built on the vision of connecting communities and making a lasting impact. The name Bambanani, meaning “Helping Hands” in Zulu, reflects our core mission—to bridge the gap between the privileged and the underprivileged, fostering unity, empowerment, and transformation. Under the leadership of John Jones, and later in 2011, Henk and Marise Kleinschmidt, the project expanded, reaching more communities and developing impactful programs in orphan care and community development.

Our mission is to build bridges between the business world, resource providers, and marginalized communities to address pressing needs such as shelter, food, sanitation, and care for the vulnerable.

At Bambanani Projects, we believe that lasting change happens when people unite to uplift and empower communities. Through strategic initiatives, local leadership development, and orphan care, we are working to create sustainable solutions that restore dignity and provide opportunities for a brighter future.
